Brenda Sims

Age 59, of Canandaigua, NY, passed away on August 5, 2023, at FF. Thompson Memorial Hospital in Canandaigua.

Brenda was born on September 13, 1963, in Batavia, NY. Throughout her life, she resided in various places including Penn Yan, Batavia, and Lockport. Brenda dedicated herself to helping others as a Health Care worker for Genesee County and the Office of the Aging in Batavia.

Brenda was a loving family person who cherished her family above all else. She was known for her welcoming nature, always ready to lend an ear or offer a comforting presence. Her genuine love for people extended beyond her immediate family that include her eight brothers and sisters: Kathy, Pete, Vicky, Chris, Debbie, John, David, Daniel; Brenda's heart was filled with joy from being a mother to four children: Dawn Collette, David Sims, Cristina Sims, and Daniel Sims,;and three grandchildren, Emily Collette, JJ Collette, and Aidan Wrobble. She treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow. Additionally, Brenda had the pleasure of embracing two great-grandchildren: Jackson Collette and Ashton Hotelling; and loved by her fiancé Brad Bernard. They brought immense happiness into her life. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marlene (Jensen) Smith, and her brother Marvin Jensen.

A Memorial Service celebrating Brenda's beautiful life will be held on Saturday (August 19) at 2:00pm. The service will take place at the Weldon Funeral Home, located at 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan.

Brenda's legacy lives on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, compassion, and love will continue to bring us memories.
