Bruce W. Morgan Jr., known as BJ, died at home on October 25, 2025, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the age of 60, following a prolonged battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Penn Yan, New York, BJ was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy, where he played on the 1982 State Champion Mustangs varsity football team. He went on to earn degrees from Hamilton College and the University at Buffalo School of Management. BJ built a life filled with friendship, laughter, and adventure. He loved good food and wine, fishing trips, travel, music (particularly Canadian), and cheering for the Buffalo Bills—usually with lively commentary. A steadfast friend, BJ’s warmth and generosity were matched by his sharp wit, which he often delivered with impeccable timing (and occasionally at someone else’s expense).
He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth; the cherished son of Daisy Heller and Bruce W. Morgan Sr.; and the loving brother of Paul, Jennifer (Payne), and Julia Morgan. BJ was a proud and caring uncle to his beloved nieces and nephews — Vanessa, Grace, Mary, Simon, Zachary, and Grace.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:00am at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 East Main Street, in Penn Yan.
