Carmen D. Velez

Age 74, passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2025 at Geneva General Hospital.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charlie G. Velez; daughter Monica Otero of Potter, NY; sisters, Kathleen (Anthony) Grassia of Durham, NC, and Nancy Gaetano of Queens, NY; father-in-law, Thomas Martinez of Bronx, NY; two granddaughters, Isabella Otero and Arihanna Otero; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Manuel Navas and Isabel Rosario Navas.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Tuesday (June 24th) from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday (June 25th) at 1:00pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 312 Liberty Street, Penn Yan; followed by burial at Bath National Cemetery.

Carmen dedicated her career in helping others as a Patient Representative in the CFSS Department at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
