Carol A. (Schweikart) Retorick

88, of Penn Yan, NY, formerly of Montoursville, PA, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Keuka Comfort Care Home in Penn Yan after suffering a severe stroke.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard L. "Dick" Retorick, Sr., with whom she shared 54 years of marriage at the time of his passing in October 2011.

The youngest of six, Carol was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Marion S. (Doebler) Schweikart.

In the early 70's, Carol worked at Michael-Stearns in Penn Yan operating a steam press and pressing custom made suites. In her later years, she worked as a CNA in home health and hospice care.

Carol and Dick enjoyed square dancing and camping with their RV in Waterville, PA every summer.

She was a devoted mother, wife, and witness for Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Retorick is survived by a son, Richard L. (Cheryl), Jr. of Penn Yan, NY; daughters, Krisann E. (David) Taylor and Lisa M. (Mike) Tinsley both of Lynchburg, VA and Sue A. (Jim) Henry of Carlsbad, CA: many grand and great grand-children; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, Jack Schweikart, Kate Carr, Evelyn Billman, Marion Grove and Sue Feist.

A service to honor Carol's life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 25th at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, where a visitation will begin at 9 AM until the time of her service. Burial will be at Jersey Shore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701; Keuka Comfort Care Home, PO Box 107, Penn Yan, NY 14527; or a charity of your choice.
