Charlotte “Joyce” Nicholson

Age 86, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away December 15, 2021.

The family will receive friends at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 4pm-6pm; followed by a memorial service celebrating her life at 6pm.  

A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family in Pulteney Cemetery at a later date.  

She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Nicholson and her brother Lowel Trapp.  She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law,  Mark and Jane Nicholson of Chambersburg, PA, and Joe and Kristina Nicholson of Penn Yan; four grandchildren, Maci (Ben) DeMoras, Peter Nicholson, Blake Jensen, and Paige Jensen; and one great-granddaughter, Zyah Cummings.

Joyce was born in Penn Yan on February 28, 1935, the daughter of John and Florence Trapp.  Joyce and her late husband raised their family in many places, traveling the world as a military family.
