Daniel F. Scott
Age 55, of Prattsburgh, passed away January 18, 2026 at Keuka Comfort Care Home in Penn Yan.
He is survived by his daughter, Courtney (Jacob) Turetsky of Eustis, FL; parents, Donald and Nancee Scott of Penn Yan; brothers, Dennis (Carol) Scott of Geneva, Ric Donley of Penn Yan; granddaughter Lillian; and special nieces and nephews, Lindsey (David) Fritz, Aaron Scott, Matthew Scott, Thomas (Katie) Scott, Valerie, Jesse (Emily) Pillsbury, Jeremy Pillsbury, Joel (Kate) Pillsbury, and Hailee Donley. Dan was predeceased by his mother Patricia (Bonnie) Scott, and sister Tammy VanSickle
A dedicated member of the Yates County Sheriff’s Office for over two decades, Dan also served as a Board Member of Mosaic Health-Rushville, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his community.
Dan's passion for family was exemplified through his culinary talents—his famous chicken BBQs and deviled eggs were the highlights of many gatherings. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting, golf, and the beauty of nature, sharing these passions generously with those he loved.
Throughout his battle with brain cancer, Dan stood as a beacon of courage and resilience, inspiring all who knew him with his grace and strength. His unyielding spirit and bravery will forever be etched in our hearts.
The family would especially like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult journey and Keuka Comfort Care for their compassionate care given to Dan.
In honor of Dan's life, a Celebration of Life will take place at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge, 301 E. Elm Street, Penn Yan, on Sunday, February 1st, from 2 PM to 5 PM, with remembrances shared at 2:30 PM.
