David Shoff

David Charles Shoff, 75, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on January 26, 2026 after battling a long illness.

David was born in Penn Yan, NY to Lyle and Celia Shoff in 1950. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1968. He then joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served from 1968 - 1972. David married his soul mate and love of his life, Sherri, in 1974 and they spent the next 50 years together until her passing in 2025. David worked for NYSEG and AES at the Dresden Greenidge Power Station for 30 years. He loved making hay and feeding Herefords on the family farm. He was an avid sports enthusiast, rooting for Syracuse, the Boston Celtics, the Boston Red Sox, and the Miami Dolphins (when they were winning).

There was nothing more important to him than his family. Just like Sherri loved being a grandmother, he loved being a grandfather and adored his grandsons, Colton and Everett.

David was predeceased by his wife, Sherri Guley Shoff, mother Celia Buckle Shoff, father Lyle Shoff, and nephew Scott Shoff.

David is survived by his two sons Greg (Amy) Shoff, Todd (Candace) Shoff and grandsons, Colton and Everett Shoff, as well as his brothers Gary and Terry Shoff, and their families.
