  Dolores Gleason Pulver Penn Yan Dolores Pulver, 76, passed away June 16, 2019 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20 at Weldon’s Funeral Home in Penn Yan. A Funeral Service will be held immediately afterwards at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Dolores Gleason was born Oct. 8, 1942 in Penn Yan. She was the daughter of Cecil and Florence (Clancy) Gleason She was one of eight children. She was a graduate of "the old school" at Penn Yan Academy. Dolores married Edward Roger Pulver Nov. 6, 1960. They were married by the late Pastor Gerald Vanaman. Over the years, Dolores volunteered for many different charitable causes including The American Red Cross, where she volunteered as an observer. She also donated her time to The American Cancer Society and taking in "fresh air kids" from New York City. Doe, as her friends called her, was also a frequent blood donor, and volunteer with the PTG at the Penn Yan School District. But what Dolores will most likely be remembered for were the annual Easter egg hunts that she and her family hosted every spring. Doe would spend countless hours every winter and spring preparing for a huge egg hunt that the Pulvers financed at their own expense. Dolores came to be known as "Mrs. Easter Bunny" to many local children. Dolores is survived by her husband, Roger Pulver; her sons, Daniel Pulver and Paul (Susan) Pulver, both of Penn Yan; son John (Chris) Pulver of Waterloo; and daughter, Tammy Pulver of Penn Yan. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren Jason, Kevin, Jessica, Earl, Hannah, Diamond, Jewel, J.D., Joe, Tiffany, Gary, Keith, Jess and Wilkins. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, brothers James (Beverly) Gleason, Thomas (Kitty) Gleason, sister Marion Phelps and countless good friends, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dolores was predeceased by two daughters, Esther Sue and Sarah Jane; and several brothers and sisters.
