Frederick J. Hamm

Age 89, of Penn Yan, passed away November 16, 2025.

Fred was born on June 19, 1936, the son of Raymond and Alberta (Dewey) Hamm.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Phyllis Hamm; five children, Ronald (Marilyn) Hamm, Dan (Mary Ellen) Hamm, Donald Hamm, Gerald (Julie) Hamm, and Renee Hamm; sister-in-law, Ruth (Gary) Jones; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 2 nephews. He was predeceased by a sisters, Janet Martin and infant sister, Sally.

He was passionate about farming and loved to restore old tractors. He was a member of the IH Tractor Club and the Yates Antique Tractor and Engine Society. He was a former Director of the Yates County Fair for many, many years. He and his sons owned and operated Hamlet Farms in Penn Yan for many years, raising thousands of pigs. In later years, he drove trucks for Ira Wyman Fuels and later he drove school bus for Penn Yan Central School. He was a lifelong member of the Yatesville Community Church and was a former member of the Moose and Elks Lodge in Penn Yan.
