Age 90, of Penn Yan, passed away in the peace of her home on December 17, 2022.
Gen was born December 20, 1931 in Penn Yan, the daughter of James and Mary (Quatrano) Tripole. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy and married Harry K. Griffin. She worked as a civilian employee at Travis Air Force Base in California for many years, and later worked for various vineyards. She also worked and helped her husband and son for many years at the family business, Griffin & Sons, in Penn Yan. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband Harry K. Griffin; sons, Michael (Linda) Griffin of Painted Post, Mark (Mariann) Griffin of Penn Yan, and Greg Griffin (Kathy Hammond) of Penn Yan; brother Martin Tripole; grandchildren, Brittany, Delma, Andrew, Mark Jr., Matthew, and Kimberly; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 312 Liberty St., Penn Yan on Wednesday (Dec. 28) from 10am-12pm; followed by a funeral mass at 12:00pm; and burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
