James Edward Short, Jr.

Age 55, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away May 21, 2023. 

Jim was born in West Palm Beach, FL, the son of Kristine and the late James Short, Sr..  Jim was a true patriot, who loved his country and his family.  He also loved the outdoors, listening to music, and playing his harmonica. 

Jim worked for Jim Rose Landscaping in Canandaigua. 

He is survived by his mother Kristine Short of Geneva, sister Wendy Parmelee of Penn Yan; niece Kristina Parmelee; and his dog and best friend, whom he loved beyond words, “Jess” Jessica. 

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Sunday, July 16 from 1pm to 3pm; followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm.  A reception will be announced.  He will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Dresden.
