Joseph C. Marino

Age 80, of Penn Yan, NY passed away at Geneva General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Joe was born on January 31, 1946 in East Orange, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Joseph John & Helen Elizabeth (Legott) Marino.  He was  a lifelong resident of Geneva & Penn Yan, New York. He spent his early years in New Jersey before moving to Geneva.  

Joe was a member of the Barrington Rod & Gun Club. He was a lifelong member of the NRA.  Joe was an experienced metal fabricator & worked at Vance Metal Fabrications in Geneva for over 30 years. Joe loved spending time in his woodworking shop and over the years had made family & friends many beautiful pieces.  Joe was an avid hunter & outdoorsman. One of Joe's favorite pastimes was camping & traveling all over the country with his beloved late wife, Sandy.  Joe even drove to Alaska to work on the Alaskan pipeline in the mid 1970's. 

Anyone that knew Joe, knew he loved telling his traveling stories and reminiscing about his early days in New Jersey with his family and also sharing great memories of his life in Geneva with family & friends.  Joe had an affinity for the Wild West and western movies with "Tombstone" being his all time favorite.  

Joe is survived by his children, Joseph C. (Don) Marino of Clearwater, Florida, Michelle A. (Stacy) Marino of Chuchville & Sarah (Scott Carberry) Marino of Geneva.  Stepchildren, Debra (Robert) Cureau, and Jimmy (Ashley) Eaves of Penn Yan.   Grandchildren, Dominic Carberry, Cade and Jenna Curbeau, James & Jacob Eaves.  He is also survived by a special "sister" Paula Maugiri Tindall & beloved cousin Marlene Madia, along with many friends and family. 

A heartfelt thank you to Joe's Goddaughter, Bianca Quartaro and the amazing staff of Geneva General Hospital in ICU & 3rd Floor North.

Joe is predeceased by his loving wife Sandy (Doty) Marino who passed away February 16, 2025 and his sister Linda A. Marino (2005). 

The family will receive friends and relatives at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Wednesday (July 22nd) from 11am-12pm.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 12pm; followed by burial at City Hill Cemetery.  A reception will be announced.
