Marilyn A. Brantner

Age 57, of Dundee/Tyrone, passed away January 13, 2026.

The family will receive friends at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan, on Friday (January 23) from 11am-12pm; followed by a funeral service at 12pm at the funeral home; and burial at Hillside Cemetery in Dundee.

She is survived by her lifelong partner, Joey A. Johnston; four children, Joseph I Johnston of Rochester, Ryan E. (Martha) Johnston of Penn Yan, Sarah P. Johnston of Tyrone, and Christopher J. Johnston (Alize O’Ryan) of Bernhards Bay, NY,  four grandchildren, Jayda Johnston, Thomas Johnston, Jemma Jo Johnston and Brayden Davis; two sisters and two brothers, Earl G. Brantner of Lexington, SC, Ruthann Brantner (Daryl McFall), of Dundee, Alice E. Brantner (John Bartz) of Bergen, and Harry M. Brantner of Penn Yan, five nieces and nephews, Nikki L Chase, Jacklyn Siegrist, Cory Brantner, Adam Dick, and Jacob Gottshall, and her beloved dog Annie. 

She was predeceased by her son, J.J. Johnston and father, Earl H. Brantner, both in 1988; her mother Ruby (Mastin) Brantner in 2015, a brother John G. Brantner in 2018, and her lifelong best friend, Crystal Clark. 

Marilyn loved flower gardening, bingo and attended the Tyrone United Methodist Church.
