Age 36, of Shortsville, NY, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2023.

Mary Katherine was born in Canandaigua, the beloved daughter of Polly and James F. Crowley Sr.

She had a zest for life and found joy in the simple pleasures. Mary Katherine had a green thumb and spent hours tending to her beautiful garden. She found solace in the pages of a good book and expressed her creativity through cooking and playing the violin. Art was her sanctuary. But above all, Mary Katherine cherished her friendships, which brought light to her days.

Although she faced loss in her life with the passing of her brother, James F. Crowley Jr., Mary Katherine's spirit remained resilient.

She is survived by her loving parents, Polly Chapman Crowley and James F. Crowley Sr; her devoted brother Stephen J. Crowley; and a supportive network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who adored her.

Mary Katherine's passion for writing led her to earn a bachelor's degree from Empire State University. She dedicated herself to helping others as the House Manager at the Harbor House of Rochester, where she initially started as a volunteer. Her compassionate nature shone through as she selflessly served those in need.

In addition to her work at Harbor House, Mary Katherine tirelessly donated her time to numerous charitable organizations such as the Parkinson's Foundation, Penfield Public Library, and local chapters of the Red Cross and Food Not Bombs. Her heart knew no bounds when it came to helping others in their time of need.

For those wishing to honor Mary Katherine's memory in a special way, donations may be made to the Harbor House of Rochester or Donate Life. These causes were close to her heart and she believed in the power of giving back.

The family will gather with friends at the Weldon Funeral Home, located at 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Wednesday (July 19) to mourn and share stories of Mary Katherine's beautiful life. The visitation hours will be from 3pm to 4pm, followed by a memorial service celebrating her life at 4pm. The service will provide a time for both family and friends to come together and share cherished memories.
