Nancy A. Morgan
-PENN YAN, NY
On March 18, 2026, Nancy Ann (Fletcher) Morgan, a resident of The Manor in Penn Yan, NY and formerly of Painted Post, NY, passed away. She was 80 years old. Nancy is survived by her husband, Walter (Sandy) Morgan. After she graduated from Ripon College, she and Sandy were married in Nancy’s hometown of Madison, WI, on June 17, 1967.
In addition to Sandy, Nancy is survived by her loving daughters, Shari Rideout, of San Jose, CA and Sarah (David) LaFrance of Sturbridge, MA. Nancy’s favorite title in life was Melmo, assigned to her by her five beloved grandchildren, Dex, Zachary, Gabriel, Max and Molly.
Nancy’s life was filled with keeping up with her girls, their families, and more volunteer roles than one can list. She started her "professional volunteer" career with the Erwin Valley Elementary School PTA in 1978, holding a variety of roles in the group, including President. As the girls moved through the public school system, so did Nancy, often balancing volunteer roles in multiple schools at one time. Her most impactful position was "The Fruit Lady”, managing the Annual Fruit Drive for the West High School Band for six consecutive years.
After Sandy retired from Corning Inc., he and Nancy moved to Keuka Lake in Penn Yan. Nancy joined other volunteer organizations, earning her recognition from New York State and the Office for the Aging for improving the lives of older New Yorkers. She continued her volunteer services from 2007 to 2020 via the AARP Tax aide program. Her clients asked for her year after year to complete their taxes.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life for Nancy this summer. In the meantime, please donate to or volunteer at an organization of your choice in Nancy’s honor. Weldon Funeral Home of Penn Yan is assisting the family. Condolences and memories may be left for the family in her guestbook at www.WeldonFuneralHome.com
