Robert Allan Petersen Sr.

Age 70, of Penn Yan, passed away February 12, 2025 at home.

Family and friends are invited to Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan, on Friday (Feb. 21st) from 5pm-6pm; followed by a memorial service at 6:00pm. 

He was born in Penn Yan, the son of the late Robert C. and Ethelyn (Daines) Petersen. He was also predeceased by his brother, Christopher Petersen. He is survived by his three children, Robert (Billie Jo) Petersen, Allan Petersen (T’Miyah Davis), and Korrina (Ben) Schultz; 3 grandchildren, Katherine, Bradley and Jonathan; and one great-grandson, Brody “Little Man”. Also, six surviving brothers and sisters, Richard Petersen, Roger (Leslie) Petersen, Al (Karen) Petersen , Kevin (Shelly) Petersen, Lindy (Butch) Newkirk, and Cindy Petersen. He is also survived by his partner and only love of his life, Melody J. Petersen. 

Bob most recently worked as a Lumber Yard Foreman at Babcock Lumber. In his younger days, he first served in the United States Navy, and later returned home where he drove taxi for numerous taxi services in Penn Yan, and bartended. Later, he drove truck and also worked at Star View Lanes Bowling Alley. He was a respectful man that knew numerous people in the community.  He will be missed by his family and friends.
