Roberto Garcia

Roberto Garcia, 41, passed away on October 10, 2026, in Penn Yan, NY.

Born on February 25, 1985, Roberto lived a life marked by the connections he built with family, friends, and those who knew him through the AA community, where he was an active member. He will be remembered as a loving son, uncle and brother, and for the warmth of a response that became uniquely his: “I love you more.”

Roberto found meaning and enjoyment in music, writing, art, and gardening. But he expressed himself best in his poetry. These interests were part of the life he created and reflected the many ways he spent his time. Whether through shared moments with loved ones, cheering on his nieces & nephews, or time devoted to the things he enjoyed, he leaves behind lasting memories for those who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Rosalba García; his father, René Garcia; his sisters, Sirene Garcia, Lissets Garcia, Osbelia Jimenez, and Estella Hicks; his brothers, René Garcia Jr. and Andres Garcia; his nephews, Ivan, Rockfelio, René, Adrian, Wilson, David; his nieces, Vanessa, Abeni, Rosalinda, Lesly, Quetzalli; and his dog, Izzy.

Roberto was preceded in death by his beloved pets Godzilla and Chewbacca.

In remembering Roberto Garcia, those close to him will carry forward the sound of his words, “I love you more,” and the place he held in their lives as a brother, uncle, son, and member of his community. His memory will forever live in our hearts.  

The family will receive friends and relatives at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St. on Friday (Oct. 16) from 10am-12pm; followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm at Weldon Funeral Home; and burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan.
