Ronald W. Loftus

Age 54, of Honeoye, NY, formerly of Penn Yan and Farmington, passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2026.

Ronald was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on November 3, 1971, the son of Daniel and Mary (McLane) Loftus. He graduated from Hill City High School in South Dakota; and was “Lakota Proud” of his Sioux Native American blood.

Ron worked as a truck driver for Leonard’s Inc. and was a Mechanic. He formally worked as a mechanic for Trombley Tire and Automotive in Penn Yan and Canandaigua NY.  Ron was a dedicated family man who was kind and would go above and beyond for anyone he ever met. In his spare time, he loved to mine Herkimer diamonds and make jewelry from the quartz crystals.

Ronald is survived by his father Daniel Loftus, his mother, Mary A. Loftus; four sons Shane M. Loftus, Derek D. Loftus, both Rapid City, SD, Daniel J. Loftus of Fort Collins, CO and Elijah D. Loftus of Manchester, NY; only daughter, Traci L. Loftus of Penn Yan, NY; brothers Robert J. Loftus of Sioux Falls, SD, Danny Loftus of Gillette, WY; sister Geri L. Rambo (Loftus) of Rapid City, SD; and 3 granddaughters and 6 grandsons.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan NY on Saturday (October 24th) from 12pm-1pm; followed immediately by a memorial service at 1:00pm at the funeral home. 

A Celebration of Life is planned as well for family and friends to attend from 3pm-5pm at Milly’s Market & Cafe, 19 Main St, Penn Yan.
