William D. McKay

Age 81, of Dundee, passed away January 5, 2026.

Bill grew up in Wayne, NY. Upon graduating from High School, he was drafted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1967 until 1969, until he was injured. He received the Purple Heart for his service. He worked for Homer Fullagar Vineyards in Penn Yan and was a member of the Dundee VFW.

Bill was predeceased by his brother Robert McKay in 2023; mother Laura (McCann) Tyler in 1999; and his younger brother, Jack Johnston, who died in childhood.

He is survived by his siblings, Richard McKay, Eugene McKay, Charles McKay, Sally Schenk (Paul), Juanita Rogers.

The family will receive friends at the Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Thursday (January 15th) from 1pm-2pm; followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Bath National Cemetery on Friday (January 16th) at 11:00am.
