Lillian D. Marlowe Age 91, of Penn Yan, NY, and formerly of West Palm Beach FL and Memphis TN, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 12, 2021. She had resided at St. Mark’s Terrace in Penn Yan for a number of years and at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held Wed. May 26 at 2pm at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Penn Yan. Everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (StJude.org) or ASPCA (aspca.org). Arrangements with Weldon Funeral Home (WeldonFuneralHome.com) Lillian was predeceased in death by her parents, Derward and Hattie (Conley) Lamphier, her brother Roger, her sister Shirley, several in-laws, one husband, one ex-husband, one long-time partner (Bob Bills), one nephew (John), one grandson (Derek) and various other aunts, uncles, and cousins in the extended Conley/and Lamphier families. She is survived by her two children, Rick (Donna) McMinn and Ellen McMinn Larrimore, their six children, five great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Lore Lamphier, ten nieces and nephews, nineteen great-nieces and nephews and their children, and many others in the Conley/Lamphier families. Lillian lived a long, busy, and happy life. Like her father before her, she loved talking to people and telling stories. She worked as a waitress for many years, a profession she was ideally suited for given her gift of gab, spending many years serving in the dining room in Goldsmith's Dept Store in Memphis and later at the Everglades Club in West Palm Beach. She loved taking pictures of family and friends, and enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. by car to visit people she knew and to see new sights. She delighted in being able to tour parts of western Europe when her son Rick and his family were stationed in Belgium. In later years she enjoyed going to yard sales and participating in social activities at St Marks. She loved playing bingo, and could always be counted on to show up in her signature red lipstick and lots of jewelry wherever she went. A mass in her memory was said at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Penn Yan on Sun March 28th. Arrangements have been entrusted to Weldon Funeral Home, Penn Yan, NY.
